The back yard is considered the area from either the mid-way point of the house backward to the property line, or in the case of a fenced-in yard, the area within the back yard fence. Yards on corner lots may have a larger than normal back yard, and then therefore have an additional charge.
Clients should always remember
that agents, by and large, are not
professional lawn care contractors.
The core of our agents are teenagers,
not professionals. If a client is “picky”
about their yard and has high
expectations of golf course-like
cuttings, then our services are not for
you. If you need just basic grass
cutting, then our services ARE for you!
The price for grass cutting will vary, based on the height of the grass,
size of area to be serviced, and ifthe property owner wants grass to
be bagged. Services are a la carte, meaning than the client can pick
and choose services, based on their needs. We will match the agent to the service request based on many factors, including, but not limited to: availability, location, selection of a choice agent by the client, and the type of request. Agents cannot apply fertilizer, weed killer, or any other chemical. Agents cannot water lawns.
The price will also vary if they bring specialized equipment such as a riding mower. The agent may agree to operate the client’s equipment, however, the client is responsible to ensure that the equipment is in safe, working condition, and must have the fuel on hand needed to operate the equipment. The agent can decline using the client’s equipment if they don’t feel comfortable or question the safety of using the equipment.
Agents cannot cut grass in excess of 9 inches. The best thing to do is to request services for when your grass is 2 to 4 inches tall. Agents can do an effective job of grass cutting if they are able to cut the grass less than 5 inches tall. If the grass is higher than 6 inches, the property owner will pay a premium for every inch over 6 inches, up to 9 inches in height. The agent will inspect the property prior to beginning to cut the grass. If the height of the grass is 9 inches of higher, then the agent will abandon the job (not commence) and you will receive an e-mail notice. If the client has a record of such issues in the past, they may be charged a minimum “call out fee” for the agent’s trouble. Clients must keep in mind that the longer grass is, the greater the amount of brown, dead grass will be left on the lawn if you choose not to have it bagged.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that the yard is free of debris and animal feces prior to the agent’s arrival. Agents will not clear your yard of debris (tree limbs, obstructions, toys, water hoses, excessive amounts of leaves, etc.) or animal feces prior to performing the grass cutting work. The agent will inspect the property prior to beginning cutting the grass. If the agent finds the yard to have a significant amount of debris and/or animal feces, then the agent will abandon the job (not commence) and you will receive an e-mail notice. If the client has a record of such issues in the past, they may be charged a minimum “call out fee” for the
While agents are responsible for inspecting the yard prior to commencing work, the property owner should disclose in comments at the time of requesting services any known potential hazards on the property. Possible hazards are any items unknown by the agent and cannot be seen easily. Possible hazards can include, but not be limited to: bee hives/wasp nests on property; dips or uneven ground on the property; noxious or vicious animal dens (such as badgers, skunks, etc.); obstructions such as water valves and exposed utility cables; or any other unseen danger or items that has the potential to harm the agent or damage equipment. Clients must also disclose if a dog is on the premises, and are responsible for ensuring that the dog is secured and not in way, nor can interact with the agent. If a dog menaces an agent, the agent has the right and is encouraged to immediately discontinue service to the property and vacate the area.
The front yard is considered the area from either the mid-way point of the house forward to the street, or in the case of a fenced-in yard, the area from the fence forward to the street. The front yards include the section of curb grass (the section of grass between the sidewalk and curb), if a sidewalk is present. Yards on corner lots may have a larger than normal front yard, and then therefore have an additional charge.
Not all agents will have the ability to weed whip/trim. Trimming is defined as the use of a gas-powered or electric trimmer to cut down grasses/weeds against the house foundation, landscaping edge, mailbox posts or fences which can’t be cut with a lawnmower. We will do our best to match your request with an agent who can operate a trimmer. Agents will not perform landscape edging work. Proper edging is a higher-scale landscape operation. Clients must allow the agents to access and utilize an external electrical outlet if the agents brings an electric trimmer.
Agents can rake leaves at a specific per hour rate. Each yard is different. Some yards have few trees, but those trees produce an excessive amount of leaves. Others have many trees that can produce just as many. The Agent will rake and bag the leaves - the client can state if they will provide the bags or if the agent will. If the agent provides the bags, additional costs will apply. The client should specify when the services are requested where they desire for the bags to be left.
Trimming of lawns adds $7.00 per service.
Bagging of grass adds $10.00 per service.
Leaf raking is at a rate of $12.00 per hour, plus
$12.00 to bag the leaves.
